On Saturday, Sept 19th 2009, FliesandFins.com, TheAnglingPost.com along with the Urban Angler, are hosting a Party to Launch the start of the fall fishing season.

Take RT-27 (Sunrise Hwy.) EAST until you drive through Montauk village.

Turn left onto CR-77 (West Lake Drive).

Go approximately 1.5 miles, and bear right onto Star Island Road.

Star Island Yacht Club is located towards the end of the road on the left hand side.

and unite with anglers, fishing guides, fly tiers and professional fly casters.

EVERYONE is invited.

All ages and All types of fisherfolks are welcome to join in. This is a gathering of anyone who fishes and cares about the environment they fish in!

Admission is 20$, and that includes one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets are 5$. A percentage of the ticket sales will be donated to the Blue Ocean Institute, founded by Carl Safina, to help support their on going effort to keep our our oceans healthy. There is a cash bar.

Tickets purchased on line will be redeemed for a raffle ticket at the door, just bring in your reciept!

There will be fantastic raffle prizes to be won, including, gear from Orvis, Abel reels, Patagonia, Airflo lines, just to name a few. Evey day we are getting more and more donations from our friends in the industry and by Sept 19th we should have a very impressive list of gear and prizes to give away!

Pop Popovics, Dave Skok. Glenn Mikkelson and more will be tying flies that are crucial for fishing the fall run. We will have a casting area to try out new rods, never seen before footage of fishing the north east will be playing though out the party. There will be live music and great food!
